1. What happens at home is more important that what happens at church. The image a child has of their parents will in many shape their view of God. A lot of parents leave it up to the church to take care of their children and students spiritual needs. No matter how hard we try the most influential person in kids lives is the people they spend the most time with. Usually the parents.

2. 3000/40!! The overall average of time that the church will get with a child or a student in a year is 40 hours. Over a 12-month period we will get 40 hours to impact your child and student. The parents will get an average of 3000 hours to intentionally invest in their kids. Resources wise it is a no brainer to invest some of our resources into not only creating engaging environments for them, but helping give the parents the resources to be the spiritual model of their home.

3. It empowers the parent to be the spiritual leader of their home. When you give parents the tools and the encouragement to do something that can at times feel uncomfortable you are setting them up for success and building their confidence that they can be a catalyst for life change in their kids life. You are telling them that God can use them in the life of their child. Which will inevitably empower them to do the same in the lives of others.

4. 2 influences on the same game plan is better than 1. When you can gain the help of another heavy influence in a child’s life and you are both working towards the same goal with same strategy your chances for success go up by a factor of 10. Then we aren’t just babysitting or childcare, but we are working together to raise the next generation of Christ Followers and Christian leaders.

5. It’s what the kids and students need. They need to be able to see something real and authentic in their parents. When kids look back over their lives they will have certain markers. They will have certain things that stand out to them. Seeing God use their parents will almost always be one. It stands out. It’s a defining moment for a child. They may not be able to describe it or explain it, but it is without question a time where God showed Himself real to them.
